How to Identify Your Definite Major Purpose (DMP)

Over the last year I have invested an enormous amount of time developing Internet businesses. One aspect that I never considered was what is my Definite Major Purpose (DMP). Your DMP is a method of identifying what you want out of your life. Saying that you want to make money over the Internet is not good enough because when you run into real difficult problems in your Internet business you need a substantial reason to help you maintain course. For instance if you are working on your Internet business to help pay for your child’s college education you will be able to break through the various obstacles because you have a purpose behind what you are doing. Otherwise you may not focus your efforts on resolving the issue ultimately letting the project fail or not move forward. Which is pretty much failure. Here are some steps to help you define your DMP:

  • Open a text editor and ask yourself if I could have everything I want what would it be? This is a brainstorming session so just jot everything that comes to your mind down.
  • When you’re finished prioritize what is important to you where item one is the number one priority in your life.
  • Next ask yourself what it will take to accomplish the number one item in your list.
  • Now develop a plan! If you want pay for a $100,000.00 college tuition for your child ask yourself how soon do I need the money? Now that you have a timeline determine what type of eProducts you can sell to reach that dollar amount. Maybe you need to develop ten niche mini-sites that each make $10,000.00 a year? I will talk about mini-sites and niche selection in later articles.
  • Ok now that you have a DMP established you will be prepared for selecting the write Internet business for you.

5 Essential Tips for Effective eBook Writing

5 Essential Tips for Effective eBook Writing

5 Essential Tips for Effective eBook Writing

Writing eBooks for specific niches is a great way to make some extra money. You would be surprised at the information you take for granted that other people are willing to pay you for. Maybe you are a person who likes salt water fish tanks and you need help maintaining the salinity in the water to keep your expensive fish alive. Perhaps you are a person who loves antique cars and knows how to tell the difference between genuine antiques and fakes. Everyone has an eBook in them and why the hell not cash in? I want you to write down six eBook ideas on topics that you know really well. Then investigate them to see if they will make viable eBook products. In order to cash in you will need to follow these 5 essential tips on writing effective eBook writing:

  1. Define your purpose for writing the eBook. What is it that you think you know that other people may pay you for?
  2.

  3. Niche Research - Go to Google, Yahoo or MSN and perform a search on your idea. If there are paid results on the top, side or bottom then there is definitely a market for it. If you do not see any paid results I suggest you move on to your next eBook idea.
  4.

  5. Content Research - Make sure what you are writing about is 100% accurate because you are the subject matter expert. Good content = :-D Customers!
  6.

  7. Now that you have an eBook product idea create your outline. Your eBook structure should look like the following:
    1. Create a cover sheet with Title, Author and a Copy Write Statement.
    2. Build a Table of Contents.
    3. Introduction – Explain what the eBook subject matter is about and tell the user how your eBook will benefit them.
    4. Chapters – Explain your content from your research.
    5. Summary – Highlight the chapter points and tell the user how they will continue to benefit from the content they just consumed.
    6. Resource Section – Use the Resource Section to point out additional reading sources they can learn from. I recommend signing up for affiliate programs where you can recommend other products and make commissions.
    7.

  8. Now that your research is finished and the outline looks good it is time to write like there is no tomorrow. Don’t be long winded though! No one likes a Wind Bag! If you have that much content then consider a sequel to your eBook. You can sell your first book at a relatively inexpensive price with a higher priced sequel on the backend. Be sure you write for you reader too! Don’t try to impress anybody with your command of the vocabulary. Everybody is busy and time short. People need straight forward solutions that get them results fast.

Ok here is your Call-to-Action: I want you to write down six eBook ideas on topics that you know really well. Then investigate each of them to see if they will make a viable eBook product. Then follow #4 to begin working on your eBook.

Stop by later this week when I cover a FREE product that helps you construct an eBook.

Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Sell Information Products For Your Online Business.

Could you use some extra money to make your life a little easier? Then you need to ask yourself why information products are ideal for you. Make your own top 10 list for yourself. I could probably list 50 reasons why information products are so great. Here are my top 10 reasons for selling information products:

  1. Can you say cheap, cheap, cheap?!  Information products are incredibly cheap to create and have enormously high markup values. This is the best type of business to have!
  2.

  3. Order fulfillment is automated. There is no need to mail anything. Product delivery is immediate.
  4.

  5. Product catalog is always current. You do not have to pay a printer & graphic designer to update your catalog every time you add a new product.
  6.

  7. High mailing, printing and associated delivery costs are a thing of the past. I’ll miiiisss yaaaa Brown!!!
  8.

  9. Selling information products online requires very little staffing costs.
  10.

  11. You don’t have to deal with angry customers in your face. You can simply refund their money and wish them a good day. They won’t even see you give them the finger either!
  12.

  13. There are little to no marketing costs to spread the word about your information product offerings.
  14.

  15. Information products give you location independence. Live anywhere in the world you choose because your information products are sold on the Internet.
  16.

  17. New product ideas are limitless. There are endless opportunities to create various information products. You can quickly create a product, test it and determine in a short time frame if it’s worth perusing any further. Physical products require a lot of money and time to determine if they are a viable product. This is why information products are so great because they are quick to market.
  18.

  19. Your customers are global. Show me the money you beautiful bastard! You are not limited to certain demographic regions. If you think about how many people are on the Internet around the world. How hard would it be to sell your product to a 1,200 people around the world? Here is an example: let’s say you sell a $30 product to 100 people every month. $30 X 100 people = $3,000 X 12 months = $36,000 in one year. I consider this a pretty damn good side business don’t you? Now get out the calculator and start running some numbers for your product ideas.
